Railways Infrastructure

One of Israel’s leading providers of track infrastructure design, the department’s staff act as leading engineer in projects through the design and construction phases.
The department has promoted various national projects, from statutory to construction, many of them through the National Infrastructure Committee (VATAL).
The staff takes part in different research topics of the Israel Railways Company and acts as consultant to the Ministry of Transportation. In recent years the department designs several Light Rail projects in Israel.

Throughout the last 5 years, the
Railways Department has

Tel Aviv - Ben Gurion Int Airport RLWY Line
Client: Israel Railways Ltd.
Estimated cost: 400 million NIS (100 M $).
Status: Detailed Design and Construction, 2000-2003 Inagurted 2003.
Description: Detailed Design of a double railway track, connecting Tel Aviv to the new terminal on Ben Gurion international Airport. The design include double track of 10 km long, 3 tunnels of 750 m long and 4 bridges.

Expansion of the Tel Aviv Ayalon RLWY Corridor,
Client: Israel Railways Ltd.
Estimated cost: 300 million NIS.
Status: Preliminary, Detailed Design and Construction, 2000-2006
Description: Preliminary, Final and detailed design of a third railway track in the Ayalon Corridor, 7 km long. One of the most complicated done in Israel, being situated in the heart of Tel Aviv Metropolitan between Ayalon Highway and the Ayalon River. The project includes diversion of the Ayalon River, temporary diversion of Ayalon Highway, construction and expansion of an existing railway station.

Tel Aviv to Ashdod - Ashkelon - Beer Sheva RLWY Line
Client: Israel Railways Ltd.
Estimated cost: 700 million NIS (200 M $)
Status: Under Construction 2003-2008
Description: Preliminary, Statutory, Final and Detailed Design of an 18 km long double railway tracks from Rishon Le'Zion to Ashdod. The project includes 5 bridges of 200, 250, 70, 70, and 50 meters long, railway tunnel of 60 m long, and Yavne tunnel of 750 m long.
