Structural & Bridges Design

The Structure and Bridges department provides consultation and design services including evaluations and feasibility studies, design of bridges, tunnels, agricultural passages, water conduits, retaining walls, acoustic walls and more.

The department provides design services for both public costumers (Israel railways, Israel National Roads Company, etc.) and private costumers (constructers, pre-cast factories etc.)

The Structure and Bridges

Status: Design 2006-2009, Construction from 2009
Description: The project includes widening an existing 9 km highway from 2 to 4 lanes with a light rail strip at the median and a main interchange of highways 79 and 77. Construction elements in the project include: new agricultural underpasses, culverts, sign bridges, acoustic walls, protection bridge over Israel main water pipe, bridge over an archeological site and retaining walls of all kinds: nails, reinforced soil, reinforced concrete and piles.

New Connection to Haifa Harbor
Client: Yafe Nof company
Estimated cost: 10 million NIS
Status: Design from 2008
Description: Design of a new 4 lanes highway/road, connecting highway 75 over highway 22 with the east entrance of Haifa Harbor and a new railway connection from Haifa to the harbor over the Kishon River. Construction elements in the project include: two segmental bridges of 200 m long over highway 22, 22 meters wide, 70 m long pre-stress girders road-bridge and 70 m long railway bridge over the river and thousands of meters of reinforced soil retaining walls.

Status: Design from 2008
Description: The project refers to extending Jerusalem's Road number 4 ("Begin Road") to the south, below Rozmarin St. by building a new 4 lanes road, connecting the south part of Jerusalem, widening Rozmarin St. for future Light Rail. Construction elements in the project include: a bridge over Road number 4, massive retaining walls and acoustic walls.
